So regarding the questions Mercman82.
1. I don't know why the controls reset for certain inputs? I looked into this months ago but still don't know why it resets. Something to do with gzdoom as its gzdoom resetting the config everytime you start the game.
2. The whole HUD needs redesigning to be scaled, this would involve much work indeed.
3. Recommended to allocate the ini with ZDL as just replacing the standard gzdoom ini will be replaced on the next time you start another ID1 game.

Thanks it worked it out I added -config "(file path to HEXEN_NZ_OPTIONS.ini)" to the Extra command line arguments Mine ended up looking like
-config "B:/GZDOOM/Hexen/BRUTAL HEXEN v7.2/Hexen/BRUTAL HEXEN OPTIONSINI/HEXEN_NZ_OPTIONS.ini"
Just dragging it into the external files list did not seem to work for me, Saved the ZDL and it works well
