Brutal Hexen has tens of thousands of downloads with no issues so I'm not sure here, let me try and help you.
1. Don't use wireless
2. Use IDM (Internet Download Manager) you get a free month to try it out, this program will scan each successful packet before downloading, if not it will retry each null packet.
