Greetings Gameflorist and hope you are good, thanks for the detailed reply.
So basically fixed the errors with the voxels, setup a new VR melee parameter, it also bugged out the firetorch so now you can select it again. So the darken areas, select the firetorch and illuminate the area. You can now kick and throw a flechette with all equipped weapons, also XP is now allocated to all weapons.
Went a step further so select the Brutal Crossbow and activate The Tome of Power, hope you enjoy.
The VR Collection is updated and ready to download, thanks again and hope to speak soon.

there's only one minor issue remaining regarding the weapons: when swapping through the weapons, you can select both the voxel melee-staff as well as the normal sprite-staff.

Strange, just tested it again and cannot replicate any weapon sprites, make sure the mod order is correct and start a new game to test.

Love Brutal Heretic and Hexen. Can't play Heretic without it now. Thank you so much... I saw several Youtube videos playing modded Heretic but titled something like "Heretic HD" (for example: Heretic HD (rain, parallax, voxels, upscale, resound)
I was especially interested in the PBR stuff available now and wanted to see if I could get Brutal Heretic 5.0 to work properly with all the HD goodness... After a lot of trial/error I got it to work and believe everything functions (several load orders seemed to work but broke mechanics in BH or the other mods). This exact order is the ONLY one that seems to work:
In order:from Heretic HD PBR 1.2 note: do NOT use HERETIC_REMADE.wad. It appears to work but *breaks* BrutalHeretic
1. heretic_hd_pbr.pk3
2. HERETIC_Relight_Maps.WAD
then:
3. BrutalHereticRPG_5.0.pk3
4. Dwars's Heretic HQ SFX Pack - All Sound Effects Remastered! (I chose the ogg version as GZDoom supports it)
5. The AMAZING Heretic Music Remaster by the legendary Xeotroid
6. The latest Heretic Neural Texture Pack. (I believe this is newer than the one included with BH5.0??? but unsure if some textures are missing)
7. Universal Rain and Snow - (didn't really care about it but it is in many videos showcasing "HD" - you have to enable it via in-game menu)
8. Reikall's Heretic Voxels - IMO they look great
The only problem I have is when I use Reikall's Heretic Voxels. For some reason when it is combined with BH5 there are 2 pickups (e.g. Elven Wand ammo) that "bob" in and out of the floor and the GL effect is where the voxel model should be. This doesn't happen when using the voxel mod alone or BH without the voxel mod. I've tried every load order and even hacking the DECORATE files to no avail. Any ideas?? I'd really like this to work.

Hello there! Firstly, i want to address how awesome is the mod. The amount of polish and gameplay tuning on this one is beyond my comprehension. Secondly, i want to ask, is it possible to turn OG Ghost-Undead-Warriors back? Everything is perfect so far, but it seems that ghost-undead warriors are replaced with melee ghost variation of barbarian from Hexen. Or was it some of the spectral nitrogolems? Or both? Anyways, after few runs on black plague, noticed that some old maps from Heretic are way easier, because when game is meant to throw highground-placed ranged mobs that bombard you with projectiles, you only encounter melee ghosts that roam around with no impact. Any way to toggle these spawns back?

Regarding the Ghost Undead Warriors, can you post a few example screenshots on Imgur that show both default Heretic and Brutal Heretic spawns of these entities and I'll look into fixing the issue as I've never heard of this before.
I'm working on the Heretic update right now so hopefully get this fixed for the next main update.

Heya! A bit shocked that this forum thread is still alive, due to how long the last msg was posted, but thats great. Ok, screenshots then. Made 4, 2 on E5M5 Hydratyr and 2 on E4M8 Shattered Bridge. It seems that both spawns of Ghost Undead Warriors and Ghost Nitrogolems are replaced. It also might be a problem on my end, since I'm using someone's else compilation of ID\Raven games packed in gzdoom huge folder full of megawads etc. But, if I run Heretic or Chocolate Heretic i get old ghost spawns, and if i mount BrutalHereticRPG_v5.0 on top of my gzdoom.exe, this happens.
Even if it is a problem on my end, there is 1 more thing i want to mention. Is there any way to do a smooth pistol start in settings? Played through few episodes with idclever starter options with "Pistol start: On", and yes, it works just fine, i start with the wand and no items, buuuut, my level gets reset too. This is kinda sad, coz i can live without having all the weapons from start, slowly getting them from level itself, but not having exp means no alternative attacks from weapons.

At this point the thread is mostly for troubleshooting and to submit any issues, regarding the screenshots, many thanks for showcasing the issue, I have debugged the entities and yes indeed this will be fixed for the next main update.

Just an update here.
Fixed the issues with the ghosts, the last versions were not brutalized, after much work this is now the next level and now all ghost types are back and vastly improved, all this is implemented for the main update which is out now.
Hope you enjoy some Brutal Heretic.
